Risk and no-advice disclaimer

In one paragraph. ArbVantage is software that finds price differences between bookmakers and works out stakes. It is information, not advice. We don't guarantee any profit, and there is no such thing as risk-free betting: odds move, bookmakers void bets and limit accounts, data can be late, and value bets lose often. You decide every bet and bet at your own risk, only with money you can afford to lose. You must be 18 or older.
This disclaimer applies to our website, the dashboard, our free calculators and guides, emails and alerts. It explains the risks; the binding rules on our liability are in section 17 of our terms of service, and this page doesn't limit any rights you have as a consumer.
1. Information, not advice
Everything ArbVantage shows, including opportunities, odds, suggested stakes, profit, edge and expected-value figures, closing line value, statistics, calculators, guides and examples, is general information produced by software and by our writers. It is not financial, investment, betting, legal or tax advice, and it is not a personal recommendation to place any bet. It doesn't take your finances, experience, goals or the law where you live into account. ArbVantage is not an investment product and we are not licensed financial advisers. If you need advice, ask a qualified professional.
2. No guarantee of profit
We don't promise or guarantee any profit, income or return, and we don't offer a profit guarantee or money-back promise based on results. Many users will make less than they expect, and some will lose money. Be wary of anyone, including on social media, who promises guaranteed or "risk-free" betting income.
3. You bet at your own risk
You alone decide whether, where and how much to bet, and you carry the result. Only bet money you can afford to lose. Never borrow to bet. Betting can become addictive; if it stops being under your control, see our responsible gambling page.
4. A sure bet is only "sure" if every leg is placed and stands
- Odds can change, or a market can close, between seeing an opportunity and placing each leg. If one leg is placed and the other is not, you hold an ordinary bet that can lose in full.
- A bookmaker can accept only part of your stake, or a lower stake than you wanted, leaving the position unbalanced.
- Markets that look identical can have different rules at different bookmakers (for example on extra time, retirements, dead heats, void legs or "push" results), so legs may not settle as expected.
- Exchange commission, currency conversion, payment fees and bookmaker taxes reduce or remove the margin.
- Rounding stakes changes the result; the profit shown is for the stakes in the calculation.
5. What bookmakers can do
Bookmakers act under their own terms, which we don't control. They can:
- refuse bets, limit your maximum stake or close your account, often because of arbitrage or value betting;
- void or resettle bets at their discretion, for example under "palpable error" or "obvious error" rules, which can turn a sure bet into a loss;
- confiscate bonuses or winnings if they consider that you broke their bonus or multiple-account rules;
- delay or block withdrawals, for example for identity or source-of-funds checks.
You are responsible for complying with each bookmaker's terms. The safety notes on our homepage explain bookmaker limits and palpable errors further.
6. Odds can be wrong or late
Odds come from third-party data providers and from bookmakers' own websites, and they change constantly. Prices in ArbVantage may be delayed, may already have moved, may have been shown only to some customers or regions, or may simply be wrong. An opportunity can disappear seconds after it appears. Always check the price, the market and its rules at the bookmaker before you bet. Live feed health is shown on our status page.
7. Value bets and middles lose often by design
A value bet is a single bet at a price we estimate to be higher than fair. The estimate can be wrong, and even a correct one loses regularly; long losing runs are normal. A middle usually ends about even or with a small loss, and only occasionally wins both legs. Any edge only shows, if at all, over a large number of bets.
8. Examples, estimates and past results
Example opportunities, sample stakes, profit figures, screenshots and the "does it pay for itself?" estimator on our website are illustrations. They use assumptions (such as how many opportunities are available to you, your stakes, that every leg is placed at the shown price and that no bet is voided or limited) that may not hold for you. They are not forecasts or promises, and past or typical results don't predict future results.
9. Availability
The service, data feeds, alerts and push notifications can be delayed or unavailable, for example during maintenance, outages at our providers or data sources, or on your own device or network. Don't rely on ArbVantage as your only record of open bets or bookmaker balances; balances in the dashboard are only what you entered and logged, not your real account balance.
10. Licences, local law and tax
- You must be 18 or older, or older where the law requires.
- Not every bookmaker shown is licensed in your country. Use only bookmakers you may lawfully use where you live. In Germany, check the whitelist of the Joint Gambling Authority (GGL); betting with unlicensed operators can be illegal and leaves you without player protection.
- You are responsible for making sure that betting is legal for you, and for any tax on your betting. The answers on tax and legality in our FAQ are general information only.
11. Bookmaker names and links
ArbVantage is independent. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or paid by any bookmaker or exchange, and showing a bookmaker is not an endorsement or an invitation to bet there. Bookmaker names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify where a price comes from. Links to bookmakers' websites are a convenience; we are not responsible for the content of external websites. If we become aware that a linked page is unlawful, we remove the link.
12. Liability
Our liability is governed by section 17 of our terms of service. In short: we are fully liable for intent, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health; the decision to bet, and what bookmakers do, are not ours, so betting losses are not damage caused by us unless we are liable under those rules. Nothing on this page limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
